- Light the end of the incense cone at a slight angle using a lighter or match, and let the flame burn for about 10 to 15 seconds, enough to create a small flame.
- If you don't let the flame burn long enough, it may go out before it burns completely (about 25 minutes).
- Blow on the flame to extinguish it. The incense cone should produce a glowing embers and a trickle of smoke, and will continue to burn on its own.
- Be sure to burn the incense only on a non-flammable and heat-resistant medium. Please note that the bottom of the incense cone may leave a residual stain on the ceramic supports during combustion.
- Pro tip: the bottom of our pewter incense lids make a perfect burner.
- Burn the incense in a well-ventilated room, away from flammable materials, and never allow the incense to burn unattended or near children, pets or a draft.
- Because we care about it: incense boxes can be reused after use for storage - or whatever you want!
- We recommend burning these incense cones directly on the box of your incense cone container - the lid works as a great burner away from heat, but it keeps your incense cone from burning out entirely as a precaution by limiting the amount of oxygen.
